EB-Cycle is an experimental mobility project developed within the Hand in Hand framework, supported by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI), exploring bamboo as a structural and sustainable material.
Designed and fabricated by Patricio Sarmiento and Dimitry Hlinka, the project rethinks mobility through the integration of traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship and contemporary design approaches. Bamboo, selected for its resilience and ecological qualities, becomes both a technical and cultural medium.
First presented at Now! Le Off in Paris, EB-Cycle proposes an eco-responsible mobility alternative while investigating new applications of craft within industrial and urban contexts. It reflects a broader approach where design acts as a catalyst for transmission, sustainability, and material innovation.
